So, why is cabal update so slow, and could I improve the performance by, for example manually download the files? As for the version of cabal I am using, it is: cabal-install version 1.22.6.0 using version 1.22.4.0 of the Cabal library. Fixing common patching/downloading issues in WOW. Cause the actual client itself to fail to download a patch or the entire game itself. With a slow DSL connection that is 1.5mbps or less. Solved: why is my update for BF1 going sooo slow at 38 kbs ps but can dl a movie at 2mb ps??? Dec 03, 2016 Imagine the first DLC on BF1, and then number 2, and not including each patch which can increase the times (even if small). You go from 2 minutes to 5.

Buy a dedicated SSD for the game or run a RAID 0 array, using two mechanical hdds or more (seriously).

if you dont have an SSD or RAID setup, this game is going to load slower than any other. its just a fact.
i have an SSD and the load times are great.

@ mace63 Load times might be improved whenever they launch the new patch.

I have an Intel 80gb SSD drive (which is intended for the o.s, actually) and a 1Tb W.D 'Black' (1001FALS). First I tried to run the game using my 1tb hdd, and it was loading ridiculously slow. I reinstalled the game on my ssd and now it takes aprx. 10-15 secs.

For me I'd say...5-10 seconds, when the server actually is working to begin with.
But there is usually some coding that can be done to improve load times for everyone, even if its not noticeable really.

I don't see why I should have to fork out for an SSD just to get into a game before it starts.

because there has never been a game like this. ever, the maps are huge, the graphics are spectacular... it requires a lot to load all of that.

You don't need an expensive SSD. It took me also 3 minutes to load a map. Installed 4GB more RAM yesterday, upping it to 8GB, and now my maps load in about 20 seconds. In short, 4GB doesn't cut it, get more RAM!

Game Patch Download
please shut up about an SSD or RAID setup.
My loading times are about 5 min for some maps, and map switch takes about 15 sec.
Changing graphics makes no difference.
How could an SSD affect loading times if beta maps loaded in 20 seconds for the most of us.
I also think the loading times are in conflict with RAM, i have got 4GB.
but its just an issue they also had with BC2, and in the next patch they will probably fix it.
So you just have to wait a couple of days, or weeks...
but i maby have got an fix for you:
If you are having really long load times on Battlefield 3 then follow these guides on how to fix.
Nvidia Cards.
Open up Nvidia Control Panel
Click on Manage 3D Settings
Click on Program Settings
Select Battlefield 3 in the drop down box (If it's not there click add and find bf3.exe located C:Program Files (x86)Origin GamesBattlefield 3)
Find Threaded optimization
Turn On
Click Apply
You should now have fast load times when changing maps :)
AMD/ATI Cards
Download ATT http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733 [downloads.guru3d.com]
Install
Right click on the icon in the bottom right corner of your screen
Click on Tweaks
Click on Advanced Tweaks
In the drop down box select Multi Threaded Support
Change to 2 or 4 (Depending on how many cores you have on your CPU)
Make sure the radio box above is ticked
Click apply

had an issue with loading times. used smart defreg and now I loading a lot better. Just simply hdd care and love... Honestly I have thought about a raid/ssd setup for my rig. waiting to see if a patch makes a difference before deciding.

In the recommended system requirements for the game it should require a SSD hard drive and 8gb of ram.

Yes, honestly most people just need to 'Defrag' thier Hard-Drive. For the Loading times before the match begins is 'about 20 seconds on a 5400rpm HDD' for me. The beta did feel a tiny bit faster but I'm about to buy a 7600rpm HDD next month wtih an Radeon 6950 on Black Friday.

well my system is way over spec for this game and bf3 load times were no problem on my raid 0 ssd drives, but ever since the latest patch 4 days ago, bf3 takes 2-5 mins to load maps now? something has changed.

Patch Download Pes 2016
Hi guys,
I just ordered the early sinister edition so I can play tonight (30 Mbit/s connection).
Unfortunately origin only loads with 900 kb /s . Already tried that EACore.ini trick but same problem again.
Restarted Origin 3 times but it just goes up to 900 kb/s . Is this an origin EA/ Server issue?
Because that would be bad because I paid 70 Euro for nothing because tomorrow I can't play just tonight.
Please help me to get my maximum download speed up and running so I can play through the night.
